Link your new Promidata Webshop to your domain name

Your webshop is ready! Now you only need to link your domain name to the webshop and you are live! But how do you do that? We are happy to explain it to you!

Introduction:

During the setup of your webshop, you can call up your shop with our internal webshop address, which looked like jouwshop.promidata.shop.
Now that you are going live, you want to link your domain name to your webshop. You had your domain name registered with another company (provider) at some point. Don't know who that is? Then check your invoices, because you should receive an invoice for this annually. With this provider, you can usually log in to adjust the settings of your domain name.

What do you need to adjust for your domain name?

If you have found your login details and logged in to your domain name, you will usually see a screen that looks something like this:

a-records

The A-record of the domain name must refer to the IP address of the server where the hosting is placed. Ask Promidata for the correct IP address that you need to enter here. So if you want to forward fritex.be.ninefortwo.be to your webshop as in the example above, enter the IP address you receive from Promidata there. If everything works correctly, your domain name will land on the address of your webshop.

NB note:
Sometimes you need to change the IP address for your domain with and without WWW. In that case, you would see your domain name twice below. Both must be linked!

It can take up to 24 hours for your domain name change to be implemented.

After you have changed the IP address, pass it on to Promidata via webshop@Promidata.com so that they can ensure that your webshop is also displayed with the correct domain name.
